The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Rubberwood
Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.
Atlantic's Unique Five-Step Finishing Process
Each product in the entire line is finished with a high-build, five-step finishing process. After a thorough sanding, a wipe-on sealer is applied, followed by a tinted sealer to even the grain and color of the wood. Additional sanding prepares the surface for the first base color coat, more sanding, and a second base color coat. After a final sanding, the finish coat is applied. This process produces a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years.
About Atlantic Furniture
Founded in 1983 as Watercraft, Inc., Atlantic Furniture started as a manufacturer of pine waterbed frames. Since then, the Springfield, Mass.-based company has expanded to Fontana, Calif. The company has moved away from the use of pine and now specializes in imported furniture made of the wood of rubber trees.

I was looking for a headboard for a guest bedroom. I did not want to spend a lot of money, but I wanted a decent quality product. I ordered the Windsor headboard, queen size, caramel latte, and the quality is great, it went on the bed frame as it should, though I did use one of my own screws because one of the ones included was stripped for some reason. The freight company delivering my headboard called and we set up an appointment for delivery (free shipping, well worth it) and it arrived quickly (within four days).

We think this is a beautiful headboard, unfortunately it only has two points for attachment on our standard queen metal bed frame so it's a bit shaky. I was concerned about putting all of our weight on it while reading- scared the connections to frame might snap- but ok so far. It does rattle and move whenever one of us rolls over though. Came back to look for footboard and matching frame- thinking this might tighten it all together- but looks like just the headboard is offered. Sad, as it's beautiful.

The headboard came damaged and was replaced. The replacement came damaged too but it was replaced too free of cost.

I'm very happy with this purchase. One note; however, the color is slightly lighter than that shown in the picture. So if you're depending on the color shown, you may want to consider another headboard. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the quality, price, and customer service... it shipped very quickly.
