A bridge with shelves stretches above the headboard and connects the two bookcase piers. The bridge has two wide shelves (including the top surface) and two sliding doors with open compartments. Drawer parts are hand-sanded and finished with a stained, protective top coat to create a smooth, snag-free interior. Drawer bottoms are reinforced by corner blocks and center rails for greater stability.
The drawers operate smoothly on full-extension drawer guides with steel ball bearings that provide easy, one-handed operation and better drawer stability than standard center-mounted drawer guides. Because the drawers extend completely out of the case, you have easier access to the contents of the drawer - even way in the back. Automatic drawer stops prevent drawers from falling out.
